teambuilding ideas

Below are some great ideas for creative and conference based teambuilding activities. In our experience, some of the most effective and successful teambuilding days are when you have a morning workshop and spend the afternoon on the teambuilding activity. The workshop can be based around your objectives and outcomes and helps set the scene for getting the most out of the activities. All teambuilding activities finish off with a de-brief and celebration.

Creativity and Conference based

canapés & cocktails

Now here’s a teambuilding activity that doesn’t consume you – you consume it! Working as a team with an experienced chef you will be provided with a set of ingredients and your objective is to create an array of canapés fit for a royal reception! Learn great new skills such as sushi rolling and the art of slicing smoked salmon. Learn about colour and taste combinations, what works and what doesn’t. After your safety briefing and demonstrations, you will be put under the same pressure as a production kitchen to deliver the goods. You are your own guests so if there are complaints, tough!

What goes best with a canapé? A cocktail of course! Learn how to mix a number of cocktails (full non alcoholic menu available) and learn some bartender tricks then you all get together to enjoy the fruits of your labours.

The elements of teamwork highlighted by this activity include planning and organisation, working to deadlines, roles and responsibilities and learning and applying new skills quickly.

masters@work - unleashing the team's creativity (click for info sheet)

Froyle Neideck and changeworks                                                      masters @ work with changeworks

How often do you hear the saying "there's no I in team"? Well I'm here to say that there very much IS an I in team! High performance teamwork is about embracing the individuals within the team and making the most of each person's strengths and individual qualities; bring these together, harness them and you have a great team.

In partnership with the great Froyle Neideck, an amazing professional contemporary artist, we have created an art-based creativity workshop that is aimed at unleashing the individual creative potential of each team member. The task of creating your own masterpiece from scratch can be daunting for some, it's up to the team to provide the support and space required to create. Once you get going though there's no stopping and EVERYONE will be uncovering hidden talents and skills.

If you are looking for a really powerful day that uncovers the personalities and strengths of the team members then I encourage you to combine masters@work with our personality profiling workshop, AUSIDentities®.

superstars and superheroes

An ideal conference based teambuild, with Superstars and Superheroes the team is challenged with either making a documentary or capturing a photo album of unusual scenarios and challenges set around the conference venue or larger area. This is a fully inclusive activity that helps team members expand their comfort zone from multiple perspectives. Challenges range from ‘pulling a pint at the local’ to busking on the street or performing random acts of kindness.

The finale is a duel between the superstar and superhero – who will triumph in the end?

Superstars and Superheroes has been set up to be delivered in partnership with the conference team at Peppers Beach Club & Spa Resort Palm Cove North Queensland so if you would sample photos please ask.

If you want to find a way to demonstrate a ‘one team one company’ approach then look no further than this fun and arty activity that will have your teams working together to achieve a great end result. Working in four or nine teams, depending on size, the goal is to recreate on canvas a painting that represents teamwork for you. Each team is given a canvas to work on and the teams have to work together to create a seamless masterpiece.

In partnership with the great team at Go Arty, this event highlights the importance of clear communication, collaborative teamwork, leadership, working to a common goal and understanding from a ‘big picture’ perspective.

twelve tasks of hercules

Fast paced, fun, full of variety and brings teams together with a feast of challenges, the twelve tasks of hercules is perfect for the conference environment as challenges can be adapted for indoors, outdoors and from 10 people to over 100 people. The whole event can be run in as little as 2 hours.

Chaos reigns in Olympia as the flame of unity has died out. Like Hercules before them , each Olympic God has set a challenge to be completed to relight the flame. Challenges are creative, physical, cerebral, musical, you name it - the twelve tasks has it!
